Aerodynamics

In the aerodynamics department you will design the whole external shape of the car. This goes from the nose to the diffuser and of course all the airfoils and other aerodynamics devices. Your task will be to optimize these components with the help of simulation software. You will also be responsible of the production method with a goal of optimizing the weight and improving our environmental impact by the use of renewable component like flax fiber.

Ideal profile:

Knowledge

Willing to learn about fluid dynamics and race car aerodynamics, hands on approach, basic knowledge of composite materials

Soft skills

Teamwork, communicative, eye for detail, problem solver

Software

Siemens Star CCM+, Siemens NX

What are the tasks:

Join us as a CFD Engineer and take the lead on designing and optimizing the aerodynamic package of our formula student race car! You’ll use Siemens Star CCM+ software to simulate the airflow over the car and its various aerodynamic components, including a front wing, rear wing, and diffuser, to calculate drag and downforce. With your knowledge of CFD, you’ll be able to iterate through a variety of design options to find the ideal solution, then validate your results on the track.

Not only will you be pushing the boundaries of aerodynamics, but you’ll also have the opportunity to see your designs come to life as you produce and mount the components yourself! You’ll need a basic understanding of composite structures and a hands-on approach to bring your designs to the finish line. So, if you’re a creative problem-solver with a passion for aerodynamics and composite structures, apply now for a career-defining role as our CFD Engineer!

Join our aerodynamics department as Structural Engineer and play a vital role in ensuring the strength, stiffness, and reliability of our aerodynamic components. You’ll design the mounting systems and expertly determine the lay-up of composite components to meet the demands of high-speed racing. Using advanced FEM simulations and real-life testing, you’ll verify the performance and safety of your designs.

As a Structural Engineer, you’ll also have the chance to push the boundaries of aerodynamics by exploring composite production methods to reduce weight and improve performance. If you’re a creative problem-solver with a passion for both aerodynamics and structural engineering, then we want you to be part of our team. Apply now for a career-defining role that will challenge your engineering capabilities!
